Captain Flanagan’s tours depart from scenic Davis Creek in Mathews aboard his traditional Chesapeake Bay deadrise, a 35-foot Evans built boat with a custom tower, safe and comfortable with a head and cover from the elements. Tours include a treasure trove of Chesapeake Bay history and local stories, making for a memorable experience, and cover the Mobjack Bay, the Rappahannock and York Rivers, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and the Eastern Shore, with New Point Comfort and Wolf Trap Lighthouses close by.
Captain Flanagan is a US Coast Guard certified Captain with 45 years experience working the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and as a charter captain. For fishermen, he offers bottom fishing and chumming for $375 (1/2 day $250) and a cobia sight and cast trip for $450. Fish for striper, cobia, spot, spade, croaker, sea mullet, flounder, blue, Spanish, drum, tautog, and most bay fish when in season. All prices include captain, boat, tackle and mate. Children are most welcome and Captain Flanagan will work at getting them their junior angler award from VMRC. Captain Flanagan’s dog, a Labrador retriever, often accompanies him on his tours unless that is a problem. Just let him know in advance. In addition, there is a cottage at the marina for $100.00 a night.
