Experience the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay and the scenic rivers and creeks of Mathews County, VA aboard the “Risky Business II” with Captain “J.C.” Hudgins. Captain Hudgins is a U.S. Coast Guard certified captain and a working waterman with decades of experience regarding Chesapeake Bay fisheries, history and culture. He began working on the water at an early age and by his own admission “had to stand on a milk crate just to see over the sides of my step-father’s boat”.

Captain Hudgins has been a tugboat captain, a commercial crabber and an oysterman and will be your expert guide on a one-of-a-kind tour of the local waterways. Captain Hudgins can even take you on an inside tour of an oyster hatchery on nearby Gwynn’s Island to see how oysters are grown from seed for the local aquaculture market. He is quick with a smile and will work with you to tailor a watermen’s heritage tour to make your special day on the water one to remember for years to come.

Experience the Chesapeake Bay and rural Mathews County the way it was meant to be experienced – out on the water!
